Today Pastor Leon Fontaine talked about Elijah about a place called “there”.

Here are the Bible Verse’s that were talked about today and church.

1 Kings 17 (New King James Version)

Elijah Proclaims a Drought

Verse 1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”
Verse 2 Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 3 “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 4 And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

Elijah and the Widow

Verse 8 Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”

I believe that if we listen to God and go where he commands or directs us and guides us, that we will also get to the place called “there”, To many Christian’s don’t listen to God or have a better idea than god.

One of Leon’s points was what if Elijah did his own thing, what if he said to God, hey God, I like this brook better, can you please reroute the ravens here, I don’t want to go to the Brook Cherith. Well God doesn’t work that way, were supposed to listen to him.

I know personally that in my daily prayer & bible study time, that I get that closer to the place called “there” and much closer to God one step at a time.

I believe “There” is the place or part of our journey that comes with obedience to the Word of God (the Bible) and having the courage, strength and integrity to what is right and just no matter the personal cost to ones self.
